PERSIAN WEDDING IN BARCELONA
Barcelona is one of the favorite destinations to celebrate weddings in Europe. The charm of the city as well as the numerous and diverse options that offers, makes Barcelona one of the Wedding Destination preferred by many foreign couples. Luxury hotels, old convents, rural farmhouses and castles: unique, diverse spaces full of history.
Maryan and Madhi chose a luxury hotel with a sea view in a privileged place in Barcelona which they filled with symbolism and flowers: hydrangeas, roses and touches of phalanopsis orchids.
The ceremony was held following the persian tradition: Sofred Aghd. This ritual combines objects related to the union of the couple, prosperity, fertility and wealth; It consists of decorating a large table with different objects charged with symbolism.
One of the most important elements of Sofred is the mirror that symbolizes eternity. When the bride enters the ceremony with the veil covering her face and sits next to the groom, the veil is removed and the first thing he sees in the mirror is the reflection of his future wife.
On the table there are also herbs, sweets, a special unleavened bread, decorated eggs, fruits and a bowl with coins representing the desire for a sweet and cheerful future, well-being, fertility, as well as wealth and prosperity.
In another moment of the ceremony the veil of the bride is placed by the bridesmaids over the heads of the couple. One of them rubs two sugar cones so that small grains fall on the veil, sweetening the marriage.
Accompanying this ceremony we place small floral centerpieces in light tones on the Sofred table and two large floral compositions, on the sides, all of them in a classic and compact style, giving each flower an exquisite prominence.
After the ceremony the banquet was held in one of the magnificents rooms of the hotel. The bride and groom‘s table was dressed in a dense and forceful path of flowers: white hydrangeas, cream and light pink roses, capuccino roses, dalhias and white phalanopsis orchids. The tables of the guests were decorated by combining low and high centerpieces with the same flowers.
The table that receives the guests and designates the specific places they should occupy, was magical: a waterfall of crystals accompanied by roses and candles hanging from a large branch, decorated an angle of the room.
Maryan asked for a large and compact bouquet. We use white roses, pink roses in a very soft tone and some english white garden roses, resulting in a classic and elegant composition at the same time.
